Waterbury's Health Department is promoting the use of the COVID-19 Immunization Program for Individuals - NBC Connecticut

The Waterbury Health Department is encouraging local residents who would like to have the COVID-19 vaccine enroll on the State Department of Public Health website.

Officials said nearly 80% of Waterbury residents aged 65 and over have had at least one vaccination to prevent COVID-19, but the city wants to reach out to the rest, including local residents.

If you or someone you know is homebound because of their age or disability and wants a vaccine, you can register for a vaccination in their home country, officials added.

Once you fill out the form, someone from your city will be in touch and help you get a COVID-19 shot.

The information is shared with cities once a week on Mondays, so officials urge people to be patient.
