This year’s Newark Beth Israel Alma Beatty Health and Wellness Fair is back in partnership with the City of Newark at the Marquis “Bo” Porter Sports Complex at 378 Lyons Ave., Newark on Saturday 6th 4pm.
Representatives from nearly 30 departments at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and New Jersey Children’s Hospital will be on hand to offer free checkups, health information, nutrition and diabetes management information, and COVID-19 vaccinations. and “Meet the Doctor” with Dr. Nelson Aluya from NBIMC.
Music will be provided by DJ Cecil Thomas and all day entertainment will be with the Major Heat Majorette and Dance Program and the Dance Group of the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC)
Other community partners in attendance include Clinton Hill Community Action, South Ward Promise Neighborhood, Leaders for Life, NAACP – Newark Chapter, and Community Food Bank of NJ, to name a few.
Kids can enjoy Bricks 4 Kidz, ping pong lessons with pro Clifton Jones, photo booth carnival games, and more.
The food trucks Black Stone, Kings and Queens, Prettygirl Ices, Busy B’s Hot Dog and Sausages, The Hot Dog Lady, itDaSpot and Salaam’s Ice Cream Parlor offer refreshments for purchase.
The first 100 participants to return the passport will receive a grocery bag of basic groceries for the pantry with healthy recipes provided by the NBIMC wellness team.
