Additionally, he said research shows the area has significant unmet need based on patient demographics the health center serves.
He said the health center plans to renovate the facility to meet standards and hopes to see patients there before the end of this year.
The non-profit organization is a state-qualified health center that strives for health care regardless of the patient’s ability to pay and can charge patients an income-based graduation of fees.
The health center is run by a majority patient committee. It has six locations: Alex Central, Charles Drew, Corwin Nixon, East Dayton Health & Dental, Patterson Park, and Victor Cassano. This will be the northernmost place where the health center was present.

The health center brings together a range of services under one roof, including primary care, dentistry and behavioral medicine services. In addition, the group has partnered with Dayton Public Schools to provide health care on wheels to students in a mobile health unit.
