Health officials report 415 new cases of COVID-19, three more deaths in W.Va.

CHARLESTON, W.Va (WDTV) – West Virginia Department of Health officials reported 415 new COVID-19 cases in the mountain state on Sunday.

It brings the total to 146,169.

A total of 662,064 people received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, and 460,331 people in the state were fully vaccinated.

DHHR officials also reported three more COVID-19-related deaths on the state’s Sunday, bringing the death toll to 2,745.

DHHR has confirmed the deaths of a 79-year-old man from Greenbrier County, a 70-year-old woman from Raleigh County, and a 95-year-old woman from Lincoln County.

“As COVID-19 cases increase in our country and parts of our state, please continue all preventive measures to protect your family and neighbors,” said Bill J. Crouch, cabinet secretary of DHHR. “We express our deepest condolences to these families.”

DHHR officials said 7,392 cases are currently active.
