Health and Human Services awards TeleTracking a six-month contract for continued COVID-19 capacity reporting

PITTSBURGH, April 6, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) – The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) placed a 6-month contract with TeleTracking to continue collecting and tracking COVID-19 and health system capacity data from hospitals and health systems across the United States sign United States. TeleTracking has been working with the federal government since March 2020 to provide public health officials with COVID-19 data quickly and consistently via HHS Protect. The collaboration has resulted in greater visibility across the health system, empowering health professionals to make better decisions about patient access and care.

TeleTracking led the data collection process for HHS Protect using a commercially available software solution that provided health officials and policy makers with high quality, accessible and timely data on COVID-19 throughout the pandemic.

This data provides a nationwide view of key response areas such as hospital capacity, hospitalization, supply of personal protective equipment (PPE), use of therapeutics, vaccinations and personnel, as well as insight into critical capacity and supply issues. This information has helped inform the federal government’s decisions on where and how resources can be mobilized to help on the front lines of the pandemic response.
