PITTSBURGH, April 6, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) – The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) placed a 6-month contract with TeleTracking to continue collecting and tracking COVID-19 and health system capacity data from hospitals and health systems across the United States sign United States. TeleTracking has been working with the federal government since March 2020 to provide public health officials with COVID-19 data quickly and consistently via HHS Protect. The collaboration has resulted in greater visibility across the health system, empowering health professionals to make better decisions about patient access and care.
“Over a year ago, TeleTracking joined the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic through our partnership with HHS. Our collaboration with federal, state, local governments and hospitals across the country to collect patient data has been instrumental in the country’s response to this crisis, ”said Chris Johnson, Co-CEO and President of TeleTracking. “We are proud of what we have achieved together and look forward to our continued work to fight the pandemic.”
TeleTracking led the data collection process for HHS Protect using a commercially available software solution that provided health officials and policy makers with high quality, accessible and timely data on COVID-19 throughout the pandemic.
This data provides a nationwide view of key response areas such as hospital capacity, hospitalization, supply of personal protective equipment (PPE), use of therapeutics, vaccinations and personnel, as well as insight into critical capacity and supply issues. This information has helped inform the federal government’s decisions on where and how resources can be mobilized to help on the front lines of the pandemic response.
For every hour patients wait for care, they face objectively worse results. TeleTracking believes that it is unacceptable for patients to be unable to get the care they need when they need it due to inefficiencies in service and unnecessary cost barriers. Our mission is simple, to make sure no one is waiting for the care they need. It is for this reason that TeleTracking recognized the significant benefits of a centralized approach to patient flow management more than a decade ago and implemented more than a hundred health system command centers in the US and UK. TeleTracking has provided exceptional results for nearly three decades, which has been the subject of studies by KLAS, Gartner, and the RAND Corporation.
